AIDSLaw of Louisiana Honors Phelps Dunbar LLP at Annual Pro Bono Publico EventNEW ORLEANS – Nov 1, 2012 – Yesterday, AIDSLaw of Louisiana, Inc. honored Phelps Dunbar LLP at the return of its annual Pro Bono Publico event. The event recognizes members of the legal community who have worked pro bono to support people living with HIV/AIDS in Louisiana.
This year, Phelps Dunbar attorneys Lee Adler and Christopher Douse have dedicated pro bono time to AIDSLaw of Louisiana, assisting with the legal end of its upcoming merger with the NO/AIDS Task Force in New Orleans. AIDSLaw has provided legal representation to more than 10,000 clients to low-income people suffering from HIV/AIDS since 1989, and will continue that work as part of the NO/AIDS Task Force.
As a partner at Phelps Dunbar, Mr. Adler practices in the areas of general business relationships and finance. He has an extensive transactional-based practice representing clients in a variety of industries. Mr. Adler has also been involved on the community level with civic and nonprofit organizations, including the Young Leadership Council, Start The Adventure In Reading (STAIR), Isidore Newman School, and Breakthrough Collaborative Educational Program.
Mr. Douse, an associate at Phelps Dunbar, also practices in the area of business law, with a focus on corporate and securities law, business and finance, mergers and acquisitions, and corporate governance.
